Daily Routine Tips
- Try and drink 6 to 8 glasses of water per day. This will help to keep your skin moist, refreshed and supple, which will help the skin fight off developing wrinkles and blemishes.
- Your outside appearance reflects what's on your inside. Maintain a healthy and balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and sunflower seeds.
- Keep up regular exercise. Regular exercise helps to keep the skin elasticity which prevents wrinkles.
- Taking vitamins and minerals helps keep your skin fresh and clean.
- Try and maintain a constant sleep pattern, you will feel more energized and your skin will become more healthy and fresher looking.
- When washing, wash lightly and in circular motion. This helps to keep the blood flow in your skin and does not allow the essential oils to escape.
- Do not squeeze spots. Although very tempting, by squeezing spots and black heads, the disease spreads and your acne will not disappear. By not squeezing your skin can heal the spot on its own and scars will not be formed.
Healthy Skin Tips
- Use moisturizers when the skin is damp so that the moisturizer can hydrate your skin. So use a soap which along with cleansing, moisturises your skin when you bathe, shower or even when you wash your hands.
- Wear sunscreen that contains UVB and UVA protection daily, even if you will not be outside for long. This is perhaps the most important skin care tip of all. Sun damage is the leading cause of both premature aging and skin cancer.
- Try to avoid the sun at harsher times, such as the afternoon-around 10AM to 2PM. When the sun is at its' worst, it's a real danger to your skin.
- It might be a good idea to wear lip balm with sunscreen in it as well. Choose a broad brimmed or bucket hat, and slide on a pair of sunglasses.
- Even if you have darker colored skin, you need to wear sunscreen. Choose a sunscreen that is 30 or 40 SPF and apply it evenly to your skin. Try to use a face friendly, water resistant sunscreen.
- Look for Vitamin E enriched skin creams, and increase its effects by also taking Vitamin E capsules, which help strengthen skin from the inside.
- Wash daily with an Anti-germ soap, and do not leave makeup on overnight. This will help prevent acne from developing or worsening and prevent infection.
- Don't wash your face with regular soap. Soaps strip your skin of the so-called "acid mantle", an oil-rich protective film that locks moisture inside the skin and prevents bacterial and other infections. Even plain water can make your skin excessively dry if you wash it too often.
- Generally, skin washing or cleansing should be limited to once or twice a day. It is best to use special moisturizing soaps or wash with plain water and moisturize right after washing.
- Wash all cosmetics off as soon as you know you will not be going out again and avoid wearing cosmetics whenever possible to give your skin a rest.
- Change the applicators and clean the brushes you use to apply make-up on a consistent basis. Bacteria and oils can build up in these places and then be spread back on the skin each time make-up is applied.
